2007 spring/summer Christian Dior

In 2007 spring/summer Haute couture Paris fashion shows l stumbled upon Christan Dior Runway, and to my suprise his line was obviously inspired by asian culture, hes got a bit of chinese, japanse parts to his clothing. There are beautiful crafted gowns that seems to have been made for exrtavagant asian women. The gowns and other peices that he has made are very exagerated, for example the very big and accessorised head peices, also some dresses are oversized in some areas, its seems that society is liking the idea of oversized items l have to addmit l do to. l also like the japanese inspired foot wear they have created, its like the geta shoes but have added more material and made them into heels, this theme is going aroung quite famously even nike have made something very similar. At the end of the runway somthing very different form the theme of the peices that we had seen, a man comes out waering nothing asian inspired but he looks like a french solider, witht eh feathered hat and tight white pants and knee lenght black boots which l dont really get but overall l like Christian Diors line. if you want to see more of Christian Dior click on this link DOIR

My role model

l have been recently thinking about what l am going to be doing when l go to Spain this year in april. Then out of no where Pablo Picasso jump into my head, for me this man is my roll model, l absolutly love his works and the way he incorporated his concepts into the works and in ways that were different. last year in my Visual Arts class l did a 6 page Visual texts, l did every period from blue period to his Synthetic Cubism period, and for me the blue period really attracted me to it, l loved the way he uses blueish clolours on his pallet, and shows the saddness and desperation in the artwork, and l took that idea and used it in one of my bodies of work and produced something similar. To conclude my little blog of gibberish about how much l love Picasso, l hope when l arrive to Spain that somehow l can fnd an art gallery that hold artworks of Pablo Picasso because l have never seen any of his works excluding pictures of them in class or on the computer.

camilla and marc freeman

Sydney based fashion label camilla and marc has experienced a meteoric rise in Australian and international fashion since it’s inception in 2003 headed by siblings Camilla and Marc Freeman.
In 2003, Camilla was awarded a scholarship to the world renowned Accademia Italiana Arte Moda Design in Florence, Italy on completion of Sydney’s Whitehouse Institute of Design while Marc Freeman brings to the duo a background in engineering and commerce.
At their debut at Mercedes Australian Fashion Week 2003, camilla and marc presented their spring / summer collection, “a Warm Summer’s Afternoon” which heralded favourable reviews from the media and was purchased by select Australian boutiques.
On completion of 2003, Camilla travelled to Florence, Italy completing her masters in fashion design and finalising the Winter 2004 collection. Showing in November at Melbourne, they secured Australian department store Myer and Selfridges of London, with rave press reviews. History was made; it was the first time an Australian department store had decided to stock a label in its first year of business.
At Mercedes Australian Fashion Week 2004 international fashion identities collaborated with camilla and marc, including acclaimed Parisian make –up director Manami Ishikawa, while model Nicole Trunfio opened and closed the “Elegantly Outspoken” Collection. camilla and marc continues to build a large celebrity following, including Australian and international celebrities such as Elle Macpherson, Jennifer Lopez, Miranda Otto, Abi Cornish and Kirsten Dunst.
As 2004 grew to a close the design duo travelled to Paris, showing their initial and highly successful Northern Hemisphere Collection ‘Elegantly Outspoken’ and on their return showed at the Melbourne Mercedes Fashion Week. May 2005 saw camilla and marc present their ‘Dear Mrs Lovely’ collection at MAFW. This sweet, girlish collection received a fantastic reception from both media and stockists and launches into Australian stores in August.
This coming winter will see camilla and marc continue to impress with their repertoire of beautiful frocks mixed with tailored pieces as they develop their reputation as a label known for fresh, effortless elegance.

The Rolling Stones in the Park (1969)

It's only rock & roll

the ROLLING STONES for me they are great they have to be one of my favorite rock and roll bands out there, it might sound weird l only 17 and into 70's music but thats probably why im drawn to it. l was watching TV late at night and my best friend who is also a fan of rock & roll, messaged me telling me hat there was an interview of the rolling stone and l was not going to pass that opportunity to see them, so l changed the chanel and there they were, skelotons their cheek bones were caving inwards, they seemed half dead, l was suprised because l saw a videa clip of on of their songs and Mick Jgger is sprinting across a 50 meter stage at some what 70 years of age, l was affraid that he night brake a hip bones or somthing and how anyone lets them do this kind of stuff, and how he can even do it. What l recon is that it has to be the drive and love of Rock & roll they have, to them its the music and pleasing others and them selves Kieth Richards said he would rather die on stge then stay at home and die in his bed and l was like l agree with that, why would you wnat to stay at home and spend your last years doing somthing just waiting for 'that" day when you leave. Some how that interview, meerly and interview has inrpired me to live life and do as much as possible, and not let things that me down.........
